This Christmas we will be at the 25th Amsterdam Haarlem Basketball Week in Haarlem. 8 teams from 6 countries will compete in two poule's and the best will face each other in the final on the 30th of December.

Not only will there be top basketball but also top entertainment. The cheerleaders are non other then the Chicago Luvabulls. Also top NBA mascot, the Toronto Raptor, will be here to amuse the audience.

We will be there on most of the days to capture this great event on CF-card.

MyGuide Amsterdam have advanced to the second round of the FIBA EuroCup at the cost of Energy Invest Rustavi from Georgia. At home Amsterdam managed to crush Rustavi 101-63 (25-13, 19-18, 27-25, 30-7). Last week in Georgia MyGuide Amsterdam won the first match 77-87 which gave the team from Amsterdam the lead. They could loose with 9 points difference and still advance. Instead of holding back they opened up the throttle and gave the approximately 500 visitors an action packed game.

In the second round MyGuide Amsterdam will have to take on Dexia Mons from Belgium. The first match of the 2 game series will be played in Amsterdam on November 20th. The return in Mons is a week later.

During the Tricorp Workwear Cup match against Groningen Amsterdam takes an early lead. With 5 minutes t play in the second period the team from Amsterdam was in the lead 5-0 (Kars, Deeves, Vincent 2x and Gough). At that moment two players from Amsterdam are sent to the penalty box which gives Groningen a 3-5 power play advantage which they manage to use optimally by scoring twice in 34 seconds (Tremblay en Kerstholt).

The Amsterdam Crusaders have clinched a spot in the Tulip Bowl at the cost of the Rotterdam Trojans. In a one sided match the Crusaders beat the Trojans at home 26-0.

The Crusaders will have a chance to defend their title October 28th against the Maastricht Wildcats. It will be their 6th Tulip Bowl in a row if they win. The Wildcats beat Leiden Lightning in their playoff patch 52-8.

The Tulip Bowl will pe played on October 28th at Sportpark Sloten and will start at 14:00u. Before this game the juniors will compete for the Dyan Kralt Bowl at 11:00u.

Over a thousand spectators in Sporthallen Zuid attended the opening match of the pro basketball season 2007/2008 between MyGuide Amsterdam and the Rotterdam Challengers. Amsterdam managed to win this tough match 60-53. Both teams couldn't impress the spectators. Amsterdam turned over the ball 22 times and Rotterdam only managed to score 29.5% of the 2 point attempts and only 25% of the 3 pointers.

Top scorer of the match was international Peter van Paassen with 16 points and 7 rebounds followed by Jeron Roberts with 15 points and also 7 rebounds. Amsterdam played without international Stefan Wessels who injured his hamstring during last practice.

Today national cup winner the Amstel Tijgers took on the national champion Tilburg Trappers for the first Ron Berteling Schaal. The Tijgers took a first period lead 0-2. In the second period the Trappers managed to come back to 3-4 and in the third period the scored twice to finally beat Amsterdam 5-4 (0-2, 3-2, 2-0)

Before this match tere was an exhibition game in honor of Ron Bertelings 50th birthday. Old players from Holland and Canada played a game agains Rons selection wich ended in a 6-6 tie.

On their way to the European Basketball Cup qualification match, The Netherlands had a friendly 4 country tournament in Alkmaar. Norway, Switserland and Holy Cross College from the USA were the visiting teams.

The Netherlands managed to beat Norway and Switserland but lost to Holy Cross College on the final day of the tournament.

Today we were at the preliminary round of the Miss REEF Contest 2007 held at The Sport in Zandvoort.

Out of the 22 contestents 12 lucky ladies were selected by a four headed jury to advance to the Miss REEF Contest 2007 at Planet REEF on the Ocean Diva, Amsterdam July 22nd.
